Labial Reduction
Labiaplasty is surgery of the labia minora. Usually abnormally enlarged labia minora can occur either at the end of adolescence or after having children. This can become troublesome as it causes rubbing during exercise or can become prominent whilst wearing tight clothing. Labiaplasty is an operation performed to remove excess tissue from the labia minora with the inner folds of the labia are timed so that they no longer protrude. This is done by either reducing the edges of the labia or by snipping out a ‘V’ shape wedge of tissue. The operation is designed to minimise scarring and to maximise aesthetic outcomes with a natural result and optimal healing.During surgery, the remaining edges are carefully sutured back together, the surgeon taking care to obtain as natural a result as possible.
Vaginaplasty
Vaginoplasty is a reconstructive surgical procedure designed to tighten the vagina muscles. After childbirth women, the complain of vaginal laxity resulting from stretching of tissues and separation of vaginal muscles causing lack of tone that can contribute to sexual dysfunction, bladder incontinence, discomfort, urinary tract infections, and frustration. Vaginoplasty is performed to repair the vaginal canal walls and opening of the vagina for enhancement of the bladder, comfort, and sexual function and called a “cosmetic vaginal surgery”.
The specifics will be discussed with your surgeon.

You may need to wear a panty shield for approximately two weeks whilst your sutures dissolve, during this time you should bathe your vagina with warm salt water to prevent infection and your surgeon may also prescribe some antibiotics. After your surgery, you may feel sensitive and tender and you may feel some discomfort when sitting.
Avoid strenuous activity or sexual intercourse – this may take up to three weeks post-surgery. Your surgeon will advise you accordingly when you can resume normal activities. Most women return to work after a week or two.
